2022-23 Athletic Accomplishments

  • Girls basketball won their first district game on February 2, 2023 against Four Corners. The final score was 52-28.
  • Boys basketball won the 3A District 7 championship. That is the program’s first district championship. They defeated Santa Fe Catholic on February 10, 2023 with a final score of 44-31. Boys basketball advanced all the way to the FHSAA regional semifinals before falling to King’s Academy (West Palm Beach).
  • Boys and girls basketball hosted a Thanksgiving basketball tournament from November 21-23, 2022 at the gym of Riverview Academy of Math and Science. A total of 14 teams were invited. Boys basketball won the tournament title by defeating Spoto High School 83-28.
  • Ben Walker from the boys basketball team scored his 1,000th career point in a regional playoff game victory against Foundation Academy (Winter Garden) on February 16, 2023.
  • Three members of the boys wrestling team advanced to the regional meet on February 24, 2023 at Lemon Bay High School: Juvandy Robinson, Stephane Norceide, and Santiago Velasco.
  • Three members of the girls wrestling team advanced to the FHSAA state meet on March 2, 2023 at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee: Abby DiCenzo, Fikayo Aroyewun, and Jada Williams.
  • Girls wrestling won the 1A District championship. They competed on February 9, 2023 at King High School.
  • Boys soccer captured the Sunshine State Athletic Conference tournament championship by defeating Hampden DuBose Academy (Mount Dora) 0-0 (4-2) shootout on January 14, 2023.
  • One member of the girls bowling team advanced to the FHSAA state competition on November 1, 2022 at Boardwalk Bowl Orlando: Malayna Calo.
  • Girls volleyball claimed the Sunshine State Athletic Conference 5A tournament championship by defeating Calvary Chapel Academy (West Melbourne) 3-0 on October 7, 2022. Girls volleyball won a home district playoff match against Fort Meade High School on October 17, 2022 before falling to Bradenton Christian in the next round.
  • Jonah Leung finished third place at the FLYRA Middle School State Championship cross country competition on October 29, 2022.
  • Middle school flag football secured a CFCAL varsity championship with a win over Winthrop Charter School on March 30, 2023.
  • Baseball secured a Sunshine State Athletic Conference state championship with an 8-3 victory over All Saints' Academy at Sanford Memorial Stadium on April 15, 2023.
  • Middle school boys basketball claimed a CFCAL championship by defeating SLAM Apollo 49-39 on May 19, 2023.
